Joachim Boudens Beer & Gastronomy Ambassador 2013
On the 19th of February Joachim Boudens was elected as the 'Beer & Gastronomy Ambassador' for 2013, the election was organized by the prestigious academy 'The Beer society of the low countries'.
The award honors a famous Belgian personality that has distinguished himself in the recent years and has contributed to the promotion of beer & gastronomy. This year the title went to Joachim Budens of the restaurant 'Hertog Jan' in Bruges. A nice recommendation from the new ambassador is to use cherry beer when cooking lobster.
Every Friday its time for our Frisky Beer Friday Post. For introducing the weekend we will provide you with some casual, funny beer pictures and movies. Here is Part III, Enjoy:
We from Beer Oh Beer Marketing Blog wish you a very happy weekend.
Let's make an exception... and talk about William Lawson. Everyone knows the whiskey brand and probably because of its amazing television commercials! I am sure that almost everyone will agree with me on this one; the advertising campaigns of this whiskey brand are awesome. They always know perfectly how to reach the consumers and the public in general. Every year there is a competition for the best advertising campaign of the year and every time William Lawson is part of the selected commercials and it already won the prize of Best Commercial several times. That is why I really want to share these commercials with you! AND of course there is an additional reason... Girls, enjoy it!
Heineken has launched a lipgloss with beer taste a while ago. Is this a way to reach a new target group or just a marketing action. I don't think many women would want to walk around all day with the taste of beer on their lips. On the marketing side on the other hand this is indeed a good move. Many people have/will talk about it which creates awareness for the brand. Below you'll find the commercial:
Heineken the producer of Kronenbourg 1664 wants to position their brand as 'a reward for self-confident men'. They are trying to achieve this buy launching a new campaign with former Manchester United footballer Eric Cantona.
The baseline of the campaign is: 'A Taste Suprême'. In the campaign by Ogilvy & Mather, Cantona is sitting in a bar in the Alsace region of France. In the campaign French hop farmers are pictured as Footballers in England.
The Uk marketing director of Heineken said: 'the new campaign is a humorous homage to the farmers in Alsace who nurture the highly-prized Strisselspalt hops that give 1664 its exceptional taste and aroma.'
Before coming to the UK, I never thought one second about British beers. After one month, I know now that Carling is an English beer and that some of their commercials are too funny not to share them with you! Of course a commercial cannot always be funny, so that's why I also added a few other good commercials from the beer!
I really like the first commercial that is posted below, who does not want this man?!
Beer blog posts will be made by one of the 7 team members, a small presentation of each one is added here... Everyone of us is a beer lover and of course a marketing addict.

Stella Artois is as we all know a Belgian Beer brand owned
by Anheuser-Busch Inbev, the world’s largest brewer. Stella has been brewed in
Leuven since 1926. The alcohol content
of Stella in Belgium is 5.2%, in the UK the alcohol content has been lowered to
4.8%. In the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Canada and New Zeeland Anheuser-Busch
InBev launched a Stella lager with 4% alcohol content.
On a marketing / advertising level there are also some
differences between the Belgian and UK market.
In Belgium Stella is marketed as a regular lager, in other countries
like the UK Stella is marketed as a Premium Lager sold at an higher price with
a modified marketing & advertising campaign. The Slogan in the UK for
example was ‘Reassuringly Expensive’, this highlites the premium positioning.
These differences in positioning can be seen in the commercials in the
different countries. In the video's below you can see that the UK commercial focus on the 'Premium' aspect. The use of French language & slogan highlites the 'Premium' & 'Classy' character of Stella in the UK.

In a previous post we already showed one of the new commercial that will be aired tonight. In this post we show our top 3 selection of beer commercials throughout the years:
3. Michelob Ultra Amber Super Bowl XL Commercial
2. Heineken Super Bowl Commercial
1. The Budweiser Wassup Commercial

With Super Bowl only a few hours away, we were curious about the new commercials that would be launched during this big event.
What we found was a commercial for Budweiser called "brotherhood".This time it's not a funny or sexy commercial like usually but a commercial with a sensitive side. The commercial features the Clydesdales, they represent the tradition, the heritage and the quality of the Budweiser brand.
Anheuser-Bush, the brewing company behind Budweiser, will be spending more than 20 million dollar on Super Bowl commercials in 2013.
